THE INITIATIVES

GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE INITIATIVES. Supporting Indonesia’s endeavour in sustainable reduction of carbon emissions is Indonesian-German Green Infrastructure Initiative (GII). GII is part of Indonesian-German climate initiative agreed in the framework of Indonesian-German bilateral government negotiations on 1 October 2019 in Berlin. GII encompasses a five-year Financial Cooperation (FC) facility (low-interest loans, promotional loans) of up to EUR 2.5 billion to support environmental an d/or climate-relevant infrastructure projects via subsidized and promotional loans through the German Development Bank (KfW). GII‘s investments are promoting green infrastructure in Indonesia in three thematic sectors: Solid Waste Management, Water and Wastewater Management, and Urban Public Transport. The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (CMMAI) and the Committee for the Acceleration of Priority Infrastructure Delivery (KPPIP) were mandated to coordinate and accelerate the planning and implementation of priority infrastructure projects2.

UI GREENMETRIC-UNIVERSITY OF INDONESIA. is an international ranking system that evaluates the sustainability performance of universities,
aiming to promote eco-friendly practices in higher education.

GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE CENTER. An organization staffed by conservation land planners and designers, geographers and foresters help states,
counties, cities, towns, conservation groups and communities tackle critical natural resources decisions and create action plans.

CENTER FOR SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE AND ENVIRONMENT. Established in 1985, the Center for Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment
Studies is currently supported by more than 100 research members from all faculties at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). The Center is
one of the research centers under the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM) at ITS, with the mission to develop research
activities, community service, training, and consultancy services in the field of sustainable infrastructure and environment. The Center is
actively engaged in research and community service with the aim of creating sustainable infrastructure—ensuring the sustainability of
infrastructure provision and management across four main pillars: environmental sustainability (including climate change resilience), economic,
social, and financial sustainability, and institutional sustainability. At the national level, Pusdi ILB is a member of the Coordinating Agency

for Environmental Study Centers of Indonesia (BKPSL), which consists of around 100 environmental study centers across Indonesia.
Many collaborative research and community service initiatives are developed through this BKPSL network3.

CADGIE – CENTRE OF ASSESSMENT OF DEVELOPMENT GREEN INDUSTRY AND ENVIRONMENTAL. CADGIE or Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan Industri Hijau dan Lingkungan Hidup is established by Ministry of Industry (Mol) to manage and/or oversee the execution of the Green Industry Roadmap (GIR), and become a key partner for the policy component of the Indonesia RECP programme4.

AUSTRALASIAN GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE NETWORK (AGIN). As a registered Not-For-Profit association, the primary driver of AGIN is passion and a strong united belief that our world must develop in respect and synergy with nature. The transition from ‘grey to green and blue infrastructure’ for building and urban design is the goal of our efforts as a collaborative global network because “vegetation makes it possible”. In 2019, WGIN set up a European Chapter with the aim of raising awareness among EU policymakers about the multiple benefits of green infrastructure.5

THE INSTITUTE FOR SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE is an education and research nonprofit (a 501c3) based in Washington DC. It was established in 2010 by the American Public Works Association (APWA), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). Responding to the need for a comprehensive sustainability framework and rating system suitable for use in civil infrastructure development, ISI collaborated with the then Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design to develop Envision. The mission are: to help communities around the world build sustainable, resilient, and equitable civil infrastructure; to train and credential Envision sustainability professionals and verify projects using Envision; and to protect the environment, enhance human health and well-being, and bolster economic prosperity.
